Happy Halloween

Halloween
- by Mary Jane Carr
Witches flying past on broomsticks,
Black cats leaping here and there,
White-robed spooks on every corner,
Mournful moaning in the air,
Goblins peering out of windows,
Spirit-things that rap and run-
But don’t be scared-it’s just October,
Having one last hour of fun!
I googled Halloween poems this morning and this one seemed perfect to get my blog buddies [...]

Just Stuff

So the bowl of candy is ready, minus the Almond Joy I carefully took out for myself. One little scarecrow is out front making the walkway look a little festive. One hour of handing out candy and then lights off. But during that short time frame I’m sure to see fairy princesses, batmen, Ironmen, bunnies, [...]

Almost Friday

My company this week is having its annual conference. People from all around the world and really every part of the world come in for the workshops, state of union address and all around rah-rah sessions. There’s also a product fair where all the workgroups get to demonstrate the latest and great gadgets, and changes [...]

Monday Comes so Quick

Don’t you just love Maxine? I love her dry wit.
Summer came back for a brief visit yesterday then Fall kicked him out by evening. It’s about 40 degrees and the wind is a blowing. I love Fall. I love the change of temperature, the wind, the leaves-that is when they don’t blow into my yard. [...]

The Weekend

What a pleasant surprise it was yesterday when after making my  way to the library to find out they were having a used book sale. The weather was a pleasant 72 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and the wind was light. This is a brand new library too and closer to my house. [...]

Bird Feeder

First off–this was not the visitor I had in mind when I put bird feeders up. Oh well he’s kind of cute.
Not much to blog about today other than I voted early yesterday, had lunch, and then broke up a fence panel with help from friends to put in the garbage. The fence panel had [...]

I Splurged

It seems like forever since I’ve had to wear a jacket. Of course Texas summers can do that to you-make you feel like you’ve been living in an oven for that last 10,000 years and when the first taste of fall touches your skin it makes you jump. But today I’ll have to wear light [...]

Thursday Mumblings

As of late my mind has been the equivalent of a swamp. Dark and tranquil on the surface but a whole different story if you stuck your head underwater. That’s the way my writing has been. I write in my head first then blah - it comes out on the keyboard in a wave. All [...]

Is it Monday Again?

I was very productive on Saturday. When I woke up, I was greeted by a cool breeze blowing through the front window. It was actually on the chilly side. Ah there’s nothing like that first fall touch of Mother Nature. Mr. Summer is just about out the door, albeit leaving one foot in it. Just [...]

Warning! Read at your own risk.

Or should I say click here if you dare. <g> Do you have time to waste? Do you have nothing better to do than sit in front of the computer and do absolutely nothing? Well then, the Generator Blog just might be your best friend. I unfortunately was sucked into the black hole of carving [...]
