Afterwards
As they say it’s all over but the shouting. My pot roast came out delicious and was enjoyed by all. It was a quiet Christmas but that’s okay. It was just right. It felt different this year probably because I didn’t put up any decorations except for the wreath on the front door. Even though I’m glad I don’t have much to put away I think I’ll go back to more traditional methods next year since it’s the time leading up to Christmas I enjoy. Putting up decorations over the Thanksgiving and enjoying them for several weeks gets me in the mood for the holidays. Because of the cruise I felt in some ways I skipped Christmas. I really didn’t want to go to all that effort. But I felt like something was missing. Oh well live and learn, but I’m still glad I don’t have to put away stuff. I’m going to brave Garden Ridge today. I have to get a new rug for my office. Yesterday when I was vacuuming, I was straightening the rug and noticed white powder. I turned the rug up and the bottom had disintegrated. I had several inches of white power on the floor from where the bottom had just fallen apart. Probably from my chair rolling back and forth. The room doesn’t look right without a cream colored rug and it’s driving me nuts. <g> So off to search for just the right one and fight the crowds who are looking for post Christmas deals. Happy after-Christmas.
