Just A Short Post
Two of my good friends share the same birthday, one had a milestone this year. So we decided to split up the birthday fun into two weeks. The week before it was King Tut and this past weekend was celebrating the milestone with dinner at PF Chang’s then having a little party at another friend’s house afterwards. It was great, and DL we loved, loved, loved the Godiva cookies. Of course with all this celebrating I didn’t get much writing done or the work on a couple of projects for the office. Oh well. I didn’t want to. I just wanted to play. Today is going to be interesting with the impending ice storm approaching us at a snail’s pace. I’m sure I’ll get to work but I’m not so certain how I will get home. Hopefully they’ll let us leave mid day and I can just finish what I need to do at home. I also need to get gas this morning-not fun. Well everyone stay warm and safe. This icy weather should be out of here by tomorrow afternoon.

I’m definitely leaving early. I’m not getting stuck driving around in ice!

So glad the Birthday Cookies were a hit!!!! Thought about sending Godiva chocolates instead…. but…. well, here’s my own personal “Lesson Learned” story:
Back when Paul and I first got together back in 2000, he went on one of his many business trips - but this one was different than the rest because I had secretly put some Hershey’s kisses in his luggage. I was feeling quite pleased with myself until I got a call from him at midnight the night he arrived. All the chocolate had melted all over his clothes & he was in charge of conducting a big meeting bright and early the next morning at 8AM. He ended up driving all over town looking for a place that was open all night where he could buy some clothes. Needless to say, in better circumstances, Wal-Mart would NOT have been his first, or even 90th, choice!

By the way, I thought about sending Cherie something too (other than a card), but I have no idea whether or not this birthday was one of her Big 0’s. Any idea so I know for the next time????
