Fooled

I slept in again paying no attention to my alarm clock. There was no reason to get up early-not when I’m snuggled just right in my warm bed and the wind chill is 9 degrees outside. The ice storm was on schedule hitting us around 6pm last night. It left us with a thin blanket of pellets covering anything made of cement or metal. The usual morning sounds were absent, the truck starting up next door and across the street, the busy street a few blocks away, and a neighbor who drags her trashcans back to her house the day after trash day. All these comfortable sounds of a normal Wednesday morning and were sadly missing and lulled me into believing it was Saturday. Hee. So everyone is hunkered in their houses until the sun warms us up. When I see the drip-drip-drip from the roof I’ll know it’s time to make my way to work. Happy Wednesday.

The weather yesterday and last night down here can only be described as “Much Ado About Nothing.” Dire Warnings, weathermen breaking into TV shows, radio alerts, at least 10 email warnings… on and on. It was almost anti-climatic to have only some short-term cold weather without all the other dramatic stuff that was supposed to happen.
