Swine Monday
Hey notice anything different?
I ventured into new territory-CSS style sheet land. I changed a few little things like the background, and widened the border, but don’t you think they make a nice difference? It only took me two days to figure it out. I only lost the background about three times, lost my banner, experienced vanishing text. But hey it’s all good now.
I tinkered all weekend. I decided I needed to do absolutely nothing of importance so I sat at the computer and played with Photoimpact-a graphics program I love. I just spent time making backgrounds and funky pictures. I hadn’t done that for what seems a long time. It’s kind of like painting or coloring, and for someone who can barely paint by numbers it lets me pretend I’m an artist. And it’s pretty therapeutic.
I’m posting this tonight because we’re supposed to get storms tomorrow morning. And I think they’re going to be bad ones too.
In other news a friend of mine ended up going to the hospital on Saturday. She was having trouble with her balance. Turns out it was only an inner ear infection, not that I take and ear infection lightly but that was better than something worse. This makes me think, I’m going to work from home for few days. With all this Swine Flu business who wants to leave their house? I ventured to Walmart yesterday only to be coughed on a hundred times in the Produce section. But I can’t work from home except maybe one day. All the press on this swine puppy makes me bite my nails. And then I think about all the people I know who’ve come down with the flu lately. Could that be a similar swine strain of the virus? Just not as potent? And what of these swine? Where do they get the flu? Okay so I’m being silly but it’s close to my bed time and I’m loopy.
Happy swine Monday! I hear at Walmart they’re handing out free surgical masks decorated with a photo of Michael Jackson. Oh you get a free glove too!

Good post!!! Lots of good info! Send me some of your artistic creations! Is that the same program that you did that postcard of my house about a year ago???
My weather radio has gone off about 10 times in the last hour. I turned on the TV to see the “Local on the 8’s” and all they’ve had is the national weather, even when the local is supposed to be on! Did you get the bad weather you were thinking you might?
Who had to go to the hospital???? Glad that it wasn’t anything too serious. Hugs to whoever it was!
They actually closed a few high schools this week in SAT due to the swine flu. Apparently universities are a different story… Paul trudged in to work today. I read something about this flu a week or two ago & the article said that you actually have to have been sniffing pigs to get it. Can’t imagine that there are that many pig-sniffers around the world so maybe I better dig up some more current information. It’s amazing how these viruses get started. Paul enlightened me with some info yesterday about how HIV actually got started back in the ’70’s. That was horrifying news that I didn’t really need to know.
Is that true about Wal-Mart handing out that stuff? You know how gullible I can be sometimes.
Now here’s something that is for sure true —> KFC is handing out a piece of their new grilled chicken to anyone who comes in - TODAY ONLY. No coupon needed, just go in. No KFC around here (closest is SAT) or I’d be there! Let me know if you try it & what you think. If it’s good, I’ll give it a whirl the next time I’m there!
