I'm beginning to think most cable installers are idiots, just like your guy. We had one come out here about a year ago & even though I specifically requested a certain type of converter box when I called to order the service, the installer "forgot" to bring it & then began to install the one I didn't want! I told him to go back to the cable company & get the one I wanted. He glared at me and stomped out. When he came back 45 minutes later with the right one, he ran the white cable line on the front of the outside of the house about 4 feet up and all the way across the front. When I came out to check on his progress, I just about had a conniption fit. He said that's the only place it could go. I told him, "Bullshit. It can either be run just above the dirt behind these plants or you can bury it. Your choice. This is an old, historic home... Whatever made you think that running a visible cable all the way across the front of the house would be acceptable???!!! He said that if he had to spend the time to take it down and re-install it that the mosquitos would eat him alive. I went into the house, got the mosquito spray, and handed it to him. An hour later, I had it the way I wanted it (and the way it should have been installed in the first place given the rock wall inside and outside the living room) but after he left I called the cable company and gave the supervisor on duty a piece of my mind for having this Bubba on the payroll.
